How it works
A story that arrives
the slow way
There is nothing to download and nothing to binge. You subscribe, and then, month by month, Ireland's oldest stories come to your door in sealed letters. Here is exactly how it works, from the day you join to the day the tale is told.
The rhythm
Four steps, six months
1
You subscribe
Choose your season and join anytime. Join before the twentieth of the month, and your first letter goes out at the start of the next month. Join after, and it waits for the month after, sealed and ready. When you join, you will receive your welcome letter.
2
Your first letter is sealed and sent
On the first of each month I prepare and wax-seal the month's letters by hand, and send them by post. Yours begins at the very beginning of the tale, letter one, no matter when you joined.
3
One letter, every month
A new letter arrives each month, in its own time. Never all at once, never rushed. Part of the pleasure is the waiting, and the small thrill of finding wax and your name on the doormat.
4
Until the whole tale is told
A season runs to six letters across six months. Read together, they tell one complete Irish myth, from its first spark to its last breath
When your letters arrive
Everyone begins at letter one
You are never dropped into the middle of a story. Whenever you join, you start at the very beginning of the tale.

Join by the 20th
Your first letter posts on the first of next month
Orders that come in by the twentieth are sealed and sent in that month's batch.

Join after the 20th
Your first letter waits for the month after next.
Orders after the twentieth roll into the following batch. Join on the 25th of September, for example, and your first letter posts on the 1st of November, not October.
Choose how you read
Two editions, one price
Every letter comes two ways. Choose whichever suits you when you subscribe, and change your mind any time.
The script font edition
Each voice in its own font, laid out the way the letters would truly have looked. Beautiful, immersive, and a little bit of lovely work to read.
A Glimpse
By now the whole of Tara knows I am gone.
The clear-print edition
The very same words, set in a large, clean, easy-to-read type. Made for tired eyes, low light, or anyone who simply prefers it. No less lovely, and every bit as sealed and sent by hand.
A Glimpse
By now the whole of Tara knows I am gone.
Same price either way. The story is identical, only the reading changes.
