TERMS OF SERVICE

Letters from the Between
Last updated: 30 September 2026

About these terms

These terms explain what you can expect from me, and what I ask of you in return, when you subscribe to Letters from the Between. By placing an order on this website, you agree to them. If anything here isn't clear, please write to me at keeper@lettersfromthebetween.com before you subscribe and I'll happily explain.

I try to keep this plain and honest, because you deserve to know exactly what you're agreeing to.

About me

Letters from the Between is a small business run by Letters from the Between as a sole trader in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. In these terms, "I" and "we" mean the same thing, and "you" means the person placing the order.

What you're buying

A season of Letters from the Between is a subscription to a handcrafted fiction series delivered by post. Each season includes a welcome pack and six sealed letters, delivered one at a time across six months. The full contents, style, and rhythm of each season are described on the Season page before you order.

Because each letter is written, printed, folded, and sealed by hand, small variations are part of what makes each one real. No two envelopes will be identical, and that is by intention rather than by accident.

How to pay

You can pay for a season two ways:

In one payment at the current season price (as shown on the Season page).

Monthly across six months at the monthly rate (as shown on the Season page). Each monthly payment covers the coming month's letter.

Postage is added at checkout based on your delivery address. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, with no additional charges on delivery.

All payments are processed by Stripe on my behalf. I never see your full card details.

Delivery

Letters are posted from Northern Ireland by Royal Mail, using tracked or untracked post depending on the destination. Delivery times vary by country and I cannot guarantee an exact arrival date, but I aim to post on or around the first of each month.

Your welcome pack goes out within a few working days of subscribing. If you subscribe by the twentieth of the month, your first monthly letter goes out on the first of the following month. If you subscribe after the twentieth, your first monthly letter goes out the month after.

If a letter is lost or does not arrive within a reasonable time, please write to me and I will send a replacement.

Damaged items

If something arrives damaged, please tell me within 14 days of receiving it. Send me a photograph if you can, and I will send a fresh replacement at no charge.

Cancelling and refunds

If you pay monthly: you can cancel at any time before your next payment. No further payments will be taken, and no more letters will be sent from that point forward. Letters that have already been sent to you cannot be refunded, because each one is made by hand for you specifically.

If you pay for the whole season in one go: the payment is for the full season of seven pieces of post, and the season simply runs its course to completion. There is nothing to cancel because there are no further payments to take. Refunds are not available once the welcome pack or any letters have been dispatched.

Your legal right to a cooling-off period: under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, if you change your mind within 14 days of placing your order, you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund, provided the welcome pack and any letters have not yet been dispatched. If they have already been dispatched, that first shipment is not refundable, but you can still cancel any future payments if you're on the monthly plan.

To exercise this right, please write to me at keeper@lettersfromthebetween.com within 14 days.

Gifts

You are welcome to give a season as a gift. Enter the recipient's address as the delivery address at checkout, and the season will be sent to them. If you'd like to include a personal message, use the gift message field at checkout and I'll write it out and tuck it into the welcome pack by hand.

The recipient's rights under these terms are the same as any other subscriber's.

Ownership of the letters

The stories, illustrations, and writing in the letters are my own creative work and remain my property. When you subscribe, you are buying physical letters to keep and enjoy privately. You are welcome to share photographs of them on social media, quote small passages, or lend them to a friend. You are not permitted to reproduce the letters commercially, sell them, or republish the writing without my written permission.

The old Irish myths that inspire the stories are, of course, part of Ireland's shared heritage and belong to no one. But my particular retelling of them, in these letters, is my own work.

When things go wrong

I try very hard to make sure every letter is beautiful and arrives in good time. If something goes wrong on my end, I will always try to put it right. Please give me a chance to fix any problem before escalating it elsewhere.

I am not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including postal service delays, weather, or events I cannot prevent. Where I am liable, my total liability is limited to the price you paid for your subscription.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

Changes to these terms

If I need to change these terms in future (for example, if I change the season price or add a new plan), I will update this page and note the new date at the top. Existing subscribers will keep the terms they signed up under until their current season completes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Northern Ireland.
